Job Title: Receiving Lead
Shift: First Shift (7:00 AM - 3:30 PM)
Job Location: Fort Worth, TX
Reporting To: Receiving Inventory Manager


Business Contribution: The Receiving Lead is responsible for the efficient and effective coordination put away of all incoming shipments and merchandise at our company. The position will lead the receiving and replenishment department and its staff, ensuring that all items are received, stored and distributed in a safe, organized and timely manner. 


Key Responsibilities:

  • Train, monitor, motivate and coach all receiving and replenishment team members, to include both full-time and temporary workforce
  • Assists supervisor in prioritizing departmental tasks and delegates work assignments
  • Managing and work alongside team members to ensure that all inbound freight is removed from the receiving staging area in a timely manner
  • Support a busy outbound operation by managing the replenishment team to ensure that all picking slots have been accurately replenished in a timely manner
  • Ensure proper certification and adherence to best practices for all forklift equipment operators to guarantee the safe and effective utilization of all forklift equipment
  • Monitor daily productivity performance, ensuring best practice procedures are being followed
  • Maintain excellent communication within your team through effective pre-shift meetings and one-on-one communications
  • Partner with Shipping, Packaging and Inventory departments to ensure overall operations are running smoothly
  • Receives incoming product against appropriate purchase orders, completing paperwork as required
  • Assists in unloading and receiving inbound shipping containers and live load truck
  • Organizes incoming inventory deliveries for proper storage and placement.
  • Efficiently stocks shelves with newly packaged items from the packaging department
  • Consolidates primary and overstock locations to effectively utilize the cubic space of the distribution center
  • Operates any material handling equipment safely and efficiently as required
  • Helps maintain area cleanliness and organization
  • May conduct physical inventories and cycle counts as require
  • Perform all other tasks as required when assigned

Required Capabilities:

  • 2 or more years experience as a Warehouse, Supervisor or Lead in an e-commerce fulfillment environment
  • High school diploma or GED with college coursework, continuing technical education or comparable business experience preferred
  • Strong leadership skills in fostering a culture of integrity, inclusiveness, teamwork and leading by example, providing clear and constructive feedback and coaching
  • Strong sense of urgency, initiative, ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks, commitment to achieving resultd
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, proficiency to read, write, speak and understand English
  • Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and the ability to learn proprietary software
  • Experience using and maintaining warehouse equipment – to include forklifts, reach trucks, powered conveyors, pallet jacks and scanning devices
  • Ability to lead a group of 10 or more employees
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct yourself in a professional manner at all times and to communicate effectively, resolve workplace conflicts before they escalate, maintain appropriate confidentiality and to promote a positive and productive work environment
  • Working knowledge of proper inventory management practices
  • 2-5 year recent Forklift experience required (High Reach and Sit down fork lifts)
  • Good basic math skills
  • Better than average analytical skills
  • Flexibility in work schedules to accommodate the needs of the business including overtime and weekends
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs. repeatedly
  • Finger/wrist dexterity to work effectively on computer keyboard, hand scanner or grabbing/packaging product
  • Must be able to get along well with a variety of different people and work as part of a team
  • Ability to work a variety of jobs
