Director Continuous Improvement

Reports to: Continuous Improvement Center of Excellence (COE) Leader
Role Overview: Be the Architect of Change
Powering Connections. Building the Future. At NSI Industries, we don’t just maintain systems; we build them. We are seeking a Director of Continuous Improvement who is a true builder at heart—someone who thrives on creating frameworks from the ground up rather than just executing an existing playbook.
As we continue to integrate and scale our industry-leading brands, we need a strategic architect to design and deploy our operational excellence roadmap. This isn’t a role for a passive observer; it’s for a hands-on leader who will leave their fingerprints on our national operations by establishing the standards, culture, and processes that will define NSI’s future.
Responsibilities
- Build the CI Framework: Design and launch a comprehensive roadmap from scratch, embedding Lean principles and structural problem-solving capabilities across all functions.
- Architect Operational Excellence: Partner with senior leadership to identify high-impact opportunities, moving beyond tactical fixes to build long-term strategic advantages in cost, quality, and delivery.
- Implement Formal Problem Solving: Develop, train, and institutionalize a standardized PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act) methodology across the organization to ensure data-driven decision-making becomes part of our DNA.
- Develop Organizational Capability: Create and scale a custom learning curriculum, building a "bench" of CI talent through mentorship and structured certification pathways.
- Lead High-Impact Transformation: Facilitate Kaizen events and cross-functional "sprints" that bridge the gap between product design, manufacturing, and distribution.
- Drive Cultural Evolution: Act as a change agent to foster a culture of accountability and "everyday improvement," moving the organization from reactive troubleshooting to proactive innovation.
- Establish KPIs: Build the dashboards and governance structures necessary to measure the health of the CI system and its impact on the bottom line.
Requirements
- The "Builder" Profile: Proven experience building or significantly transforming a CI function across multiple sites.
- Industry Knowledge: Hands-on knowledge of manufacturing, warehousing, logistics, or distribution. Experience leading Lean transformations in a multi-site environment is highly valued.
- Technical Expertise: Strong background in Lean, Six Sigma, and Agile.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related technical field; Master’s preferred.
- Experience: 7–10 years of leadership in continuous improvement or operational excellence.
- Strategic Problem Solver: Expert-level mastery of formal problem-solving tools (A3, 5-Whys, Fishbone) within a PDCA framework.
- Change Management: Exceptional ability to influence and lead through change, with a "hands-on" approach to shop-floor and warehouse-level implementation.
