The Tool & Die Maker’s primary function is to cut, shape, finish, and maintain tools made of metal and will forge diecasts to create molds.
Job Duties:
  1. Design and build a die from a part print or sample part.
  2. Troubleshoots production tooling/dies and makes necessary repairs.
  3. Learn how to design and build a die from a part print or sample part.
  4. Learn how to troubleshoot production tooling/dies and make necessary repairs.
  5. Learn how to design and build machine tools, cutting tools and other tools used for manufacturing.
  6. Will learn to work on prototypes for Engineering Department
  7. Form grinding.
  8. Checks tooling and responsible for supplying measurements to Engineering Department.
  9. Learn to set up dies.
  10. Works with Power Presses​​​​​​.
  11. Maintains a safe, clean and well-organized workspace.
  12. Perform other duties as assigned.
Additional Requirements
  • Must be able to work Monday-Friday.
  • Must be able to read and write.
  • Must be able to work in a team environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to safely and accurately operate all measuring and production equipment.
  • Working understanding of geometry, trigonometry, and algebra.
  • Ability to work independently, and with engineers and machinists.
  • Excellent follow-up skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
Education
  • Tool and diemaker certification preferred.
  • Successful completion of an apprentice program with a licensed professional or established company required.



Experience
  • A minimum of 5 years Tool and Die making.
  • Some machine shop experience.


Physical Requirements – Essential
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 lbs. at a time.
