Warehouse Specialist
Job Summary:
Works effectively and efficiently in a dispatch and warehouse environment to receive and schedule shipping and freight operations, including developing a working knowledge of warehouse organization and creating proper and detailed shipping documentation. Trains, mentors, and works with shipping and warehouse team to ensure customer satisfaction. Has a strong working knowledge of all Shipping & Receiving operations, systems, and software.
Position Responsibilities:
- Has strong knowledge and background of company part numbers, products, and customers.
- Has in-depth experience and knowledge of all Shipping procedures (Fedex, UPS, DSL, Freight, International, etc.)
- Packs and unpacks orders while maintaining department schedule.
- Effectively uses organization systems and warehouse technology to locate and gather stock.
- Creates shipping labels and handles shipping information.
- Problem solves for customers and suppliers about shipping routes, delayed items and rush orders.
- Performs administrative duties like answering phones, updating records and providing excellent customer service.
- Liaises with material handlers and managers about product ordering and storage.
- Works well with shipping team to complete orders on time.
- Maintains shipping area in a clean and organized manner ensuring all tools, fixtures, materials and other supplies are clean and put away in the proper locations.
- Load/Unload packages incoming from trucks
- Inspect contents to make sure they are undamaged
- Verify packages according to order and invoices (quantity, quality, price, shipping method, etc.)
- Assume responsibility for returning unsatisfactory shipments or receiving replacements
- Label deliveries and allocate them to their designated place
- Ensure invoices are signed for satisfactory deliveries
- Knowledge of Receiving process and ability to perform Receiving when required.
- Know, understand and comply with Company Quality Policy and its objectives.
- Know, understand and comply with all Safety Rules and guidelines.
- Ability to train and mentor Shipping Team members on procedures, HHDs, and processes.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by the Shipping & Receiving Manager.
- Typically requires a HS diploma
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in Shipping, Receiving, and Warehouse operations.
- Knowledge in warehouse procedures
- Must be able to interpret documents such as operating and maintenance instructions, safety rules and procedure manuals
- Ability to read and write English.
- Ability to read and understand all shipping and receiving documentation including Purchase Orders, Work Orders, Bill of Materials, Sales Orders (Picking Lists) and Special Instructions.
- Forklift trained and certified.

BODY SENSES: Must have command of all five senses – sight, hearing, touch, perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Specific vision abilities required include close vision depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
STRENGTH: Must have the ability to lift or move up to 50 pounds with regularity.
Work Environment:
This position will be working indoors in a smoke free environment.
