NSI Industries is seeking a Distribution Center Inbound Manager for our Huntersville, NC facility. This role oversees all inbound activities, including Receiving, Returns, late‑stage Packaging, Replenishment, and Inventory Control. The Inbound Manager ensures operational accuracy, efficiency, and compliance while fostering a strong, safety-driven, high‑performance team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all inbound operations—from receiving dock through stocked inventory—while serving as a hands‑on working manager.
  • Oversee team performance, attendance, training, coaching, engagement, and career development.
  • Run daily stand‑ups to review results, communicate priorities, and drive action.
  • Foster a positive, collaborative, and safety‑focused culture.
  • Manage receiving activities, including unloading freight, verifying counts, and signing Bills of Lading per policy.
  • Ensure all inbound product is accurately recorded in ERP/WMS systems and promptly resolve discrepancies with internal partners.
  • Oversee timely processing of customer returns.
  • Lead Packaging operations, ensuring accurate inventory transactions and product availability.
  • Maintain high inventory accuracy through cycle counts, physical inventory, adjustments, and vendor returns.
  • Manage inventory levels and accuracy at third‑party warehouses and ensure proper ERP alignment.
  • Analyze operational and inventory data to identify and implement efficiency and accuracy improvements.
  • Develop and implement new processes, SOPs, and flow improvements.
  • Monitor quality, cost, and efficiency of material movement and implement solutions to logistics challenges.
  • Collaborate with supervisors and cross‑functional leaders to support broader distribution initiatives.
  • Track and improve key KPIs related to inbound performance.
  • Enforce company policies and safety regulations and maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
  • 5–10 years of experience in distribution/warehouse operations, including leadership of managers or supervisors.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and motivational skills; able to lead a large, diverse workforce.
  • Deep understanding of material handling, receiving, inventory, packaging, and returns processes.
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and mathematical skills.
  • Demonstrated sense of urgency and ownership.
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed.
  • Ability to work effectively across departments and build collaborative relationships.
  • Must be able to hear, speak, and communicate clearly with team members at all levels within a diverse workforce.
  • Must be comfortable working around and engaging with material handling equipment.
