Senior Electrical Engineer – Analog & Industrial Power Systems
NSI Industries is currently seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer with deep expertise in analog circuit design and industrial power circuits. The ideal candidate will have proven experience diagnosing and resolving noise, transient, and EMI interference issues in systems operations near motors, compressors, and other industrial equipment. Familiarity with UL, Underwriters Laboratories standards (e.g., UL508), and requirements associated with AC switches, receptacles, and GFCI technologies is strongly preferred. This role is located onsite at our Headquarters on Reese Blvd in Huntersville, NC. The role is onsite Monday - Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, development, and optimization of analog and industrial power circuits for high-reliability products used in manufacturing environments.
- Analyze and mitigate electrical noise, transient spikes, EMI/RFI issues originating from adjacent appliances, motors, or inductive loads.
- Collaborate with mechanical engineering teams, to ensure proper integration of electrical systems into mechanical assemblies.
- Perform circuit simulation, prototyping, troubleshooting, and not root-cause analyses on complex electrical issues.
- Oversee PCB layout guidelines for high-current, high voltage, and noise-sensitive designs.
- Ensure compliance with UL standards (e.g, UL508) and other relevant regulatory requirements for AC power components such as switches, receptacles, and GFCI devices.
- Conduct design reviews, documentation, test plan creation, and verification/validation activities.
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers and cross-functional teams.
- Support manufacturing, quality, and field service teams in solving production and customer issues.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (or related field).
- 3-5 years of hands-on experience in analog circuit design and industrial power systems.
- Demonstrated expertise resolving noise, transient, surge, and EMI issues in industrial or appliance environments.
- Strong mechanical engineering familiarity, with integration of electromechanical systems.
- In-depth understanding of AC power systems, switching components, protection circuits and safety requirements.
- Experience with UL508, UL listings, and compliance for AC switches, receptacles, and GFCIs.
- Proficiency in circuit simulation tools (e.g., SPICE), schematic capture, and PCB design workflows.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and project leadership skills.
