Job Title: Systems Administrator

Location: Bay Shore, NY

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and motivated Systems Administrator to join our IT team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and overall operation of the organization’s IT systems and infrastructure. This role ensures that systems are reliable, secure, and perform efficiently to support business objectives. The ideal candidate has a strong technical background, problem-solving skills, and experience with various operating systems, networks, and IT tools.

Key Responsibilities:

· Install, configure, and maintain operating systems, software, and hardware.

· Perform regular system updates, patches, and backups to ensure system reliability and data integrity.

· Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure high availability and reliability.

· Manage and maintain network infrastructure, including switches, routers, and firewalls.

· Implement and monitor security measures to protect systems and data from unauthorized access, vulnerabilities, and cyber threats.

· Perform regular backup operations and ensure data integrity.

· Manage user accounts and access permissions.

· Provide technical support to end-users, resolving hardware, software, and network issues.

· Assist in onboarding new employees by setting up accounts, devices, and permissions.

· Develop and deliver training materials to educate users on best practices and new technologies.

· Collaborate with other IT team members and departments to support business objectives.

Qualifications:

· Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.

· 5 plus years' experience.

· Proven experience as a Systems Administrator or similar role.

· Strong knowledge of operating systems (Windows, Mac OS etc.), network administration

· Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure).

· Familiarity with various IT security practices and tools.

· Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Skills:

· Experience with scripting and automation tools.

· Knowledge of database management and administration.

· Certifications such as CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, or Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA).
