Quality Engineer II

Please note, this is a full-time, 1st shift position (8am - 4:30pm, Monday - Friday).
General Summary
Accountable for overall quality of product and that part quality meets customer specification.
Responsibilities
- Support production and inspectors on quality related issues
- When required by customer, input part specific information into the MDS system and update revision when necessary
- Assist with maintenance of the quality system
- Develop all aspects of PPAP documentation including control plan, PFMEA, and balloon print
- Develop inspection plan as well as gage and GP12 work instructions
- Part inspection including layout and in-process, using all types of mechanical inspection
- Preparation of inspection reports
- Develop and order gages for all operations as established by control plan
- Perform process capability studies for PPAP submissions
- Develop SPC charting per CPI/customer requirements and monitor data weekly from mechanical inspections
- Maintain QC project list
- Perform weight studies on new product and issue change router for weight changes
- Schedule control plan and PFMEA review meetings per timeline
- Support the development of corrective and preventative actions for rejected material and customer returns
- Develop preventative action plan
- Assist with quality system training as direct by the Quality Manager
- Conduct training on the use of various inspection equipment
- Root cause analysis training
- ISIR training
- Minitab training
- Quality alert training
- GD&T training
- Work with other employees to resolve supplier and process related issues
- Backup to quality department for Phase Product Rollout (PPR) when needed
- Analyze CMM data for PPAPs
- Assist in CMM fixture design
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of B.S. in Engineering or equivalent, with Quality as a minor or minimum 8 years of quality control experience
- Effectively communicate with all levels in an organization, suppliers, and customers
- Proficient with the use of: Micrometers, Calipers, height stands, and indicators, etc.
- Extensive knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing and CMM capability
- Proficient with the use of Mini-tab software or other SPC software equivalent
- Knowledgeable with Six Sigma practices and statistical mathematics
Salary Range: $96,300 - $104,700
