We are seeking a proactive Human Resources Generalist (HRG) with manufacturing experience (bilingual Spanish and union experience is highly preferred). This role will assist the HR Manager and employees at our Connecticut locations in Stratford and Bristol for our Bridgeport Fittings line of business.

The HRG will handle various HR functions, including recruiting, onboarding, offboarding, training (such as ADP for time off and payroll issues), open enrollment for benefits, union liaison (when applicable), and employee relations. Additionally, the HRG will support corporate initiatives related to integration, new policies, and employee communications.
Responsibilities:
- This position serves as a point of contact for HR-related questions from managers and employees and is responsible for providing a high level of customer service
- Assists with the full life cycle of employees including onboarding (and offboarding) new hires including new employee orientation, explanation of benefits, 401k, company policies, practices & procedures
- Maintains accurate employee information in ADP by partnering with the Human Resources Service Center (HRSC) – including processing all status changes, new hires, terminations, leave of absences, worker’s comp
- Provides employee relations support
- Assists with annual HR initiatives including open enrollment, merit & performance review process
- Manages employee training on ADP (setting up account, scheduling time off, etc.)
- Acts as liaison with Union representatives regarding dues, invoicing, leaves, warnings, increases
- Work with the HRSC in the review of payroll, policy rollout, ADP training, LOA, and other initiatives
- Performs other HR duties as assigned
- 1-5 years’ manufacturing environment experience in human resources
- Bilingual (Spanish) highly preferred
- Union experience and familiarity with Connecticut employment laws highly preferred
- Recruiting hourly roles experience required
- Strong oral and written communication skills. Superior interpersonal and coaching skills and ability to work well with staff at all levels
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and excellent organization skills
- Excellent analytical skills and good reasoning abilities and sound judgment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
