Set Up Mechanic (Die Cast)
Exempt/Non-exempt: Non-Exempt
Supervisory responsibilities:
- Responsible for checking machines to ensure that they are operating to standard.
- Set up and change over zinc injection mold dies to Dept. standards and procedures.
- Perform minor repairs to dies and machinery if necessary.
- Set-up Trim Dies and instruct operators on use.
- Check the safety features of machinery and follow lock out/tag out procedures.
- Responsible for monitoring any air, oil, water leaks, etc.
- Responsible for checking casting(s) to assure that they are running to quality standards.
- Reporting any unsafe or unusual conditions to Foreperson or Supervisor.
- Maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
- Monitoring pressure gauges and temperatures on machines.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Mechanical Ability
- Previous experience with die cast machinery a plus.
- Previous experience on injection molding dies a plus.
- Bilingual or English Speaking.
- Good interpersonal skills and computer skills.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High school Diploma/Equivalency
ENVIRONMENT:
100% within manufacturing facility. Conditions may be hot and noisy for extended periods.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; stand; walk; use hands and fingers to feel and handle; reach with arms and hands; talk and hear. While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently is required to stoop, kneel, and crouch; lift weight or exert a force up to a maximum of 50 pounds.
